Hospice is a coordinated program of palliative and supportive care. Hospice addresses the
physical, social, emotional and spiritual needs of patients experiencing life-threatening
illness and their families. Care may be delivered in the home or in an inpatient setting
and is provided by a medically directed interdisciplinary team of professionals and
volunteers. Bereavement support is provided to both families and caregivers.
